Lemington Spa Temperate House
Warwick Council had decided that they wanted a major art piece capable of serving as a unique focal point for the whole project and acting in a complimentary manner to the innovative design of the building and as a backdrop to the temperate planting.
We came up with the concept of building a large scale pyramidal, crystal structure where the formal crystal shapes would be build in welsh slate. This sculpture has a very organic feel reflecting the evolution and growth of life. The sculpture represents a whole body that is only complete when the last building block is in place but is only viable because of all the small constituent parts working together in harmony to create the whole.
